  8. Royal Flush is an addictive game that gives you a limited amount of time to make the best possible poker hands in a five by five grid (i.e. ten directions).

  10. Scoring is based upon poker hands.  A chart next to the board, explains what is a valid poker hand and it's score.  If you make a good hand in all ten directions, then you get an additional 1,000 points for that hand.  Also, during any hand, you may replace one card of your choosing.

  12. You get two hands to make a good score.  If you get 200,000 points or more in two hands, you get an additional hand (for a total of 3).

  16. Royal Flush is a single player game for Macintoshｪ computers, growing out of the bar game Royal Flash(ｪ).  It takes advantage of 256 color graphics and full 4 channel sound.

  19. A Macintosh PowerMac.
  20. System 7.0 system software or later.
  21. Sound Manager 3.0 or better.
  22. A monitor that supports 256 colors and 640 x 480 dots.
  23. At least 4 MB of available RAM.

  26. When first started, Royal Flush will automatically create a preferences file in the system folder preferences folder if it is not already there

  30. escape or command -q will quit the current game and return you to the main screen.

This is my second public release.  Whether or not you like the game, please appreciate the amount of effort that went into Royal Flush.  Since I started programming about 9 months ago, I think I have bought every book available and downloaded every example program I can get off AOL, CIS and various Internet sources.

  38. I intend to support Royal Flush as long as I can.  Eventually, once SpriteWorld 2.0 is released, I'll get around to putting the 68k version out for the rest of the Mac community.  I understand your frustration since I've only had a PowerMac for about a year now.

  40. So anyway, there's my story.  I hope you like Royal Flush.  If you like it, send in cash, check or money order (made out to Bob Keeney) for $20.00 (or more or less if you feel like it).  If you don't like it, tell me why.  If you do, it would be nice to hear that too.
